E-mail Addresses
An e-mail program enables us to send, receive and manage our message. However, there are a few parameters you must be clear about before you start sending and receiving e-mail messages. E-mail addresses commonly take this form:
username@hostname
for example,
raj@rddiffmail.com,
here, the rightmost part of the address is called the zone. The zone in this case is called 'rediffmail.com'. Zone is the name of the server hosting it. raj is the net name of a user.
Thus, email-address has two parts separated by '@' ('at') symbol. Let us discuss each part.
1. Username: On the left side of @ separator is the username. A username cannot have blanks.
2. Domain name for the host server: The portion to the right of @ identifies the server or host or network that service your e-mail.
